National Ballet Of Canada
A surreal short film created for The National Ballet of Canada, Grand Mirage stars Guillaume Côté in a dreamlike descent through nostalgia, longing, and illusion. Set against the eerie glow of a forgotten roadside motel, the film weaves classical movement into a cinematic space where time stands still and meaning dissolves in mist. With a noir-inspired palette and deliberately disjointed pacing, the piece challenges our sense of what is real — and what’s simply a mirage.
Grand Mirage is currently traveling the international short film circuit, earning acclaim for its hypnotic visual language and emotive choreography. At its heart, the film is a meditation on identity and escape — a visual poem shaped by light, shadow, and stillness. This project reflects our ongoing exploration of how dance can transcend the stage and exist as pure, atmospheric cinema.
